Not exactly the best odds: A new hire has about a fifty/fifty shot at being an utter failure.
That’s what a recent survey of managers from Leadership IQ uncovered.
Almost half — 46% — of new hires fail within their first 18 months on the job.
And personality — not ability or technical proficiency — plays a huge part in the failure for most recruits. According to the study, the top reasons new hires couldn’t hack it were inability to accept feedback (26%) and inability to control emotions (23%).
