More than a third of people have dated a co-worker
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the latest stats on workplace romance are in and, if you’re looking, Finance is a great field to work.
More than one in three workers (38%) have dated a co-worker over the course of their career — and 17% admitted to dating co-workers at least twice.
How do those relationship fare? 31% workplace romances end in marriage.
Those are some of the salacious findings from CareerBuilder’s annual office romance survey.
Here are some other interesting findings from the survey:
- 28% of the workers who have dated a co-worker said they have dated someone higher up in their organization (35% of women and 28% of men said this).
- 18% of workers admitted to dating their boss.
As the industries where the most workplace relationships take place, hospitality tops the list with 47% of workers in this field admitting to a dating a co-worker. Rounding out the top five are:
- Financial Services – 45%
- Transportation & Utilities – 43%
- Information Technology – 40%, and
- Healthcare – 38%.
