As a general rule, employers don’t enjoy interacting with the IRS. But we doubt even the most Taxman-averse Finance pros feel as strongly about the agency as these individuals.
According to WalletHub’s 2016 Taxpayer Survey, U.S. taxpayers would go to extremely great lengths to avoid preparing/paying taxes and basically see the IRS as worse some of the most-hated pop culture villains.
Case in point: 35% of individuals would rather talk about sex with their kids than prepare their taxes and 27% would gladly get an “IRS” tattoo for a tax-free future.
Less popular than Putin
As for their feelings about the agency, the study participants like the following generally despised individuals more than the IRS:
- O.J. Simpson: (8 percent),
- Kanye West (10 percent),
- Vladimir Putin (12 percent), and
- Bill Cosby (14 percent).
It’s also worth noting that 4% of respondents admitted the person they’d most like to punch is an IRS agent.
