Eighty-six percent of teleworkers say they are more productive in their home office, according to a recent report by Staples Advantage.
Some of the other noteworthy findings in the Staples Advantage report:
- 80% of telecommuters say they now have a better work/life balance
- 73% of telecommuters say they eat healthier when they work remotely, and
- teleworkers said their stress levels dropped 25% on average since they began working at home.
For the respondents, the average round-trip commute to work is 75 miles. According to the study, these telecommuters are more then willing to show their appreciation for being saved the trip.
More than three-quarters (76%) of teleworkers said they are more willing to put in extra time on work — and more loyal to their employer since they began working from home.
The Staples Advantage reported also cited Forrester Research, Inc.’s “U.S. Telecommuting Forecast, 2009 to 2016,” which said the number of teleworkers in the U.S. is expected to 63 million by 2016.
