2012 federal holidays: Dates Payroll needs to know
Sure, there are few things workers enjoy more than a paid holiday. But for your Payroll staffers, days off mean doing more work in less time.
So, before the rush of year-end, it’s probably a good idea to look over next year’s federal holidays and pass them along to your Payroll department. That way they can be better prepared for the short weeks.
Here the 10 federal holidays for 2012:
- New Year’s Day: Mon., Jan. 2
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: Mon., Jan. 16
- Washington’s Birthday/President’s Day: Mon., Feb. 20
- Memorial Day: Mon., May 28
- Independence Day (Fourth of July): Wed., July 4
- Labor Day: Mon., Sept. 3
- Columbus Day: Mon., Oct. 8
- Veterans Day: Mon., Nov. 12
- Thanksgiving Day: Thurs., Nov. 22, and
- Christmas Day: Tues., Dec. 25.
