Trying to cut your organization’s energy costs? Here’s a way to leverage your firm’s in-house expertise to get things done.
Sixty-six percent of facility managers work with IT departments when employing energy-efficiency projects, according to a recent survey by the Peerless Research Group.
The survey also revealed that many facility managers are unaware of new technology that can help cut energy costs. The Internet of Things (IoT) provides ample opportunities, such as building automation technologies and energy monitoring software. Yet, only one out of five FMs is very familiar with the idea of IoT.
There’s a lot of new tech out there to help you dig deeper into their building’s energy consumption. Facility staff should work with IT to identify energy monitoring software that works best for you. It beats relying on utility bills for tracking energy costs.
