YouTube footage of worker’s fights leads to workers’ comp charges
Here’s an employee who moonlighted as a mixed martial arts fighter and racked up an impressive record doing so. Problem is, he allegedly won a bunch of the fights while he was out on workers’ compensation.
Los Angeles firefighter Raphael “Noodle” Davis was arrested for participating in mixed martial arts while also claiming workers’ comp. He’s since been released on bail.
According to various news sources, Davis allegedly fought in a total of seven fights (boasting a 6-1 record) at the same that he was collecting $30,000 in workers’ comp payments.
Now he’s facing four felony counts insurance fraud, which could carry up to five years in prison.
So how did Davis get caught? Investigators eventually found footage on YouTube of Davis fighting during a time they claim he had filed comp claims.
