Who's leaving your firm first? 4 ways to tell
Much has been written about employees who are getting ready to jump ship. Here’s what employers can do to find out just which ones.
New research gives companies some key details about who they should be trying to engage right now.
According to a Leadership Pulse Study — from the HR software company eePulse, Inc. — there are four criteria that will determine which employees are most likely to hand in their two weeks notice:
- Employees between ages 41 and 45
- Employees in the IT and Marketing fields
- Workers at the director and supervisor/manager level, and
- Employees at companies with average or below average performance in comparison to industry peers.
Companies should also keep an eye on employees that thrived during the recession (through multitasking, added responsibility, etc.) — but don’t have as much to do right now.
Why? These workers are likely to feel underappreciated — and start looking for work where they will be.
