A reason for economic optimism? Small firms starting to think so
When it comes to the economy, the number of small business owners that admitted “It’s getting better” just reached its highest level in 14 months.
These figures come from April’s Discover Small Business Watch, a monthly index of 22 million businesses’ — with five employees or less — economic confidence.
When the economy goes south, the smallest businesses often suffer the worst, so these findings are significant for firms of all sizes.

Other findings:
58% of owners say they have not experienced temporary cash flow issues in the past 90 days that have caused them to put off paying some bills, and
21% of owners plan to increase spending on business development over the next six months.
