Medical child support orders get a little easier to keep track of
This should make your Payroll people happy: Finally, there will be some congruence between the expiration dates on medical child support orders.
Parts A and B of the form now have the same expiration date: Aug. 31, 2019.
That’s a bit of a change from the past, when the expiration dates were staggered.
Your responsibilities
Your company is only responsible for Part A – Notice to Withhold For Health Care Coverage.
Important reminder: Information on Part A should not be shared with the employee.
When you’re done filling out the Employer Response section of Part A, no matter whether you’ll ultimately need to start withholding from the employee’s wages, make sure you return the information to the issuing agency.
Unless you checked any of the boxes numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, a copy of Part B should be forwarded to the plan administrator within 20 business days of the date of the notice.
