Oregon Proposes Higher Workers’ Comp Costs in 2027
Under a proposal from the Department of Consumer and Business Services, Oregon employers would pay an average of 92 cents per $100 of payroll for workers’ compensation coverage in 2027.
The proposed average pure premium rate would increase 2.1%, while the average loaded pure premium would rise to 92 cents per $100 of payroll in 2027, from 89 cents in 2026. The premium assessment would remain 9.8%.
The Workers’ Benefit Fund assessment would rise from 1.8 cents to 2.2 cents per hour worked. A new 0.2-cent BOLI Expense Fund component would bring the total assessment to 2.4 cents per hour worked. Employers must pay at least half of both assessments.
