Worker's birthday gift leads to harassment lawsuit
When months of inappropriate comments and unwanted sexual advances proved futile, this manager took his harassment to the next level — and now he’s headed to court.
According to a lawsuit by Silvia Olveira, her boss, Ibrahim Mansi, decided it was a good idea to give her a vibrator for her birthday. Mansi allegedly prefaced the presentation of his gift by telling Olveira: “Usually, I get a cake for my employees.”
Mansi would’ve been better of just getting a cake. After throwing her gift in the trash, Olveira promptly quit and filed a sexual harassment against her former boss.
Olveira claims this was the last straw in a problematic working relationship with Mansi that included inappropriate comments about her body and Mansi’s attempt to place a paycheck in her back pocket.
