EEO-1 reporting resumes: Here are your 2021 deadlines
Put EEO-1 reporting back on Payroll’s 2021 to-do list.
Last year the reporting was postponed due to COVID-19. But now this regulatory requirement has returned.
And the deadlines differ depending on your industry.
Here’s what you need to know to keep your company in compliance.
When are your EEO-1 reports due now?
Be aware: These are to submit both 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection. (Component 2 remains on-hold.)
Check out your new due dates, based on the EEOC’s recent announcement:
- April 2021: Private sector employers
- July 2021: 2020 EEO-5 (Public Elementary/Secondary School Districts)
- August 2021: 2020 EEO-3 (Local Referral Unions), and
- October 2021: 2021 EEO-4 (State/Local Governments).
And if you have even a single employee in CA …
In addition to the EEO-1 Component 1 report that’s due for most employers in April 2021, those with at least one employee located in California may need to file a pay data report to the state by March 31, 2021.
That report is similar to the EEO-1 Component 2 report.
Are you on the hook? Private employers that have 100 or more employees with even just one person working in California must file the state report.
The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing says the portal will be available on Feb. 16, 2021, with resources already available online.
